Plans call for the Sears store to close the store in September. A liquidation sale began Friday.
Demolition began on the southeast corner of the Sears store that hadn’t been in use for a while and is fenced off from the public. The rest of Sears remains open.
Sears, a key tenant in the mall for decades, is one of 265 unprofitable stores nationwide to be closing as Sears Holdings sheds struggling locations.
